Professional Development

Angela LOVES working with teams of adults who support children and youth! Her dream is for all grownups to shift their lens from a behavioural to a developmental perspective. We know that ALL KIDS CAN LEARN and in Angela's workshops she helps grownups understand that in order to support children and youth, we must first understand where they are developmentally, and help them grown from there. Here's a snapshot of the Tree Metaphor.

What Participants Are Saying
"Thank you for the amazing session with our Teacher Mentors and Mentees! Your message about children, trauma, and connection was exactly what we needed. Every single educator needs to hear you speak. It's helpful that you are an experienced educator, who has lived the day to day in the classroom. You have done the research, have shared it in a way that makes sense, and you very clearly help us put that knowledge into our own practice. I am so grateful for your time with our group! "

"Your words about turning toward kids and working with students from a perspective that all kids can learn were SO POWERFUL! Your session was a helpful reminder that students will be dysregulated as often as they need to be in the presence of a safe, caring adult. We were reminded of the importance of co-regulation and that it is our nervous system that soothes the nervous system of another. You brightened our day when you reminded us that we are magic. Thank you for validating our words and the work that we do."

"I appreciate how you lit up for us and reminded us that we can't put student mental health first if we put teacher mental health last. This resonates after all we've been through and how disconnected we've been over the past few years. Hearing your heart for both students and educators made listening to you not just a time to take in your words, but a time to soak them in and prepare ourselves to continue to give back from a place of recognizing the importance of building attachment, helping them reduce stress, and build their identity."
