Learn At Your Own Pace: On Your Own Or In a Group

Trauma-Focused Schools
Trauma-Focused Schools dives deep into the heart of why children with trauma have big (sometimes scary) behaviours, and how to support such students and an entire classroom dynamic to be optimal for healing, growth, and learning. This is a 6-hour course that dives into how trauma impacts the brain and body, and more importantly, how HEALING also can change the brain. Join me to learn about CTR's 7 Developmental Domains, PEACE, Educator Wellness, and one of my favourite topics - trauma informed IEP's.
Common Childhood Diagnoses, aka DOD
AKA Development Over Diagnosis explores how to best support children and youth who may or may not have a diagnosis. Angela and fellow school psychologist, Kyle, will teach you about their incredible GROW framework (Gain Awareness, Reframe, Observe, Ways to Support) which is a tool to help grownups support children and youth from where they are developmentally. Diagnoses covered include Anxiety, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disorders and Autism.
10 Ways to De-Escalate
Manipulative. Defiant. Oppositional. Bad. Have you heard these words to describe a student? My guess is you have and it probably didn't feel good. This 1-hour 10 Ways online course helps shift the lens from a behavioural to a developmental approach. You will be reminded that your number one job is to DE-ESCALATE. You will learn 10 practical ways to support your students with the biggest of behaviours (when they are in their survival brain). You will be reminded that kids who need love and support the most are often the hardest to give it to -
and you've got this!

"For my pro-d day today I had a 4 hour course in the morning and in the afternoon I took the 1 hour 10 Ways to De-Escalate a Student’s Big Behaviours course. I learned more in the 1 hour course because it was filled with practical, concrete strategies that I can start with today. I will be recommending this course to all of my staff."

"I took this course as a must for work but I'm truly left wanting more. Angela delivers information in a educational and fun way. I wish that this information was available widely when I was a child and navigating my own trauma. We all could benefit from this course, it's a reminder to be gentle and kind to everyone. It gives you perspective on a whole new level. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for making it so easy to learn."

"One of the biggest challenges we face is students with intense behaviours. Educators feel at a loss with how to deal with these behaviours and it can be increasingly difficult not to take it personally. This course has helped me implement ways to help and has reminded me that it's NEVER personal. I am seeing students building their self-esteem, develop a sense of safety and make huge strides in their educational journey! The shift in understanding from where behaviours initiate and how a traumatized or stressed brain reacts is a paradigm shift in our education system. The Trauma-Focused Schools and 10 Ways courses were easy to follow, practical, and have changed my lens and practice in schools."
